There’s a new search engine making the rounds this week called Search Wikia, big deal, right?
Well, maybe. See, this search engine has two pretty interesting things going for it
1) It’s being built by Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia and
2) It’s billed as a freely licensed (open source) search engine
Both of these add up to mean that there will be a big splash, big following immediately – at least for curiosity sake – and the results will be built, added to, improved and monitored by the community, much like Wikipedia. It’s really still a mystery whether this will produce a better search experience (they even admit the results are poor at the moment), but I think this one is worth watching and jumping into a little early.
At the very least go in there an build a keyword rich profile, just remember don’t spam this community, it’s not nice and they are vigilant.
