In a recent newsletter I listed 10 productivity tools I couldn’t live without.
Today I’d like to talk specifically about one of those tools called DropSend. DropSend, as the name may imply, allows user to upload large files to either store or send to others. Sending files over one megabyte can be tough via email and, in some cases, impossible due to firewalls and the like.
DropSend has one of those very easy to use and very easy to look at Web 2.0 interfaces and the creator, Carson Systems, is at the forefront of the AJAX web movement. In fact, you might want to take a look at some of their other offerings like vitamin.
DropSend has multiple account options ranging from free, with limited sending per month, to fully branded, unlimited sending. The great thing about the professional business account is that you can grant sending privileges to your internal staff and external suppliers, vendors and consultants.
Upload speed on my system was very fast, but I suspect that varies with your connection. I’ve used DropSend to successfully upload multi-megabyte audio and video files with great success.
I love tools that that do one thing really, really well.
