With all of the fancy new PDAs, phones and Web 2.0 services out there to help you plan, capture and organize your world, I find that I still like the feel of paper.
From the moment I started my business over 20 years ago, I began carrying Moleskine pocket notebooks around in with me so that I could capture ideas, phrases, song titles – whatever hit me – before it evaporated back into wherever it came from.
Today, most of my blog posts originate from one of those notes. I encourage every business owner I meet (really everyone I meet) to keep this kind of journal tool handy as a way to jot down their ideas. If anything, business and marketing is really about creating and implementing creative ideas systematically.
I do love and advocate the advances in technology as a means to automate and facilitate many aspects of business. I just happen to find the little pocket size, no batteries needed, notebook a great way to do it and somehow stay a little more connected to the natural world.
